My New Spring Glow Morning Ritual

Winter is almost over and that means that it’s almost time for spring! Spring for me is all about rebirth and focusing on refreshing my beauty after those cold, winter months. The best way to do just that is to take a look at my current routines and adapt them to the upcoming spring season.

My winter routines often consist of taking it slow, cozy nights and taking extra care for my skin in those dry winter months. Now for spring it’s completely different! The longer sunny days give me so much energy. My whole routine changes and is more focused on glowing skin, cute outfits, enjoying nature and being outside.

In this post I will walk you through my own spring morning routine and give you some inspiration and ideas on how to build your own. You’ll also learn how to use your spring morning routine to prepare for summer.

What is A Spring Morning Routine?

A spring morning routine is a set of activities and habits that you do each morning during spring. My spring morning routine starts right after I wake up and lasts until it’s time for lunch at about noon. A spring morning routine, specifically, focuses on renewal, rebirth and the new fresh energy of spring.

Here’s a typical spring morning routine that I follow myself:

Why change your routine each season?

For me it’s important to switch up my routines every season! Each season comes with it’s own goals and opportunities. For me, spring is all about preparing myself for summer and adding some extra healthy habits into my routines. It’s also easy to switch it up by season because one season is about 3 months and that’s the perfect length to build consistency for new habits to stick.

Changes I make from winter to spring:

  • Wake up early with the sun
  • Go outside daily / take a walk daily
  • Spring skin care routine
  • Add more leafy greens into my diet
  • Have a super food smoothie daily
  • Start my running routine
  • Move my body daily / workout more

My 5-Stelp Spring Glow Morning Routine

Step 1. WAKE UP RITUAL

Each morning I have my own little blossom ritual. It begins when I wake up, I always start with my teeth routine which consists of flossing / inter dental brushing and brushing my teeth. After that I pick a yoga routine and do some stretching followed by a big glass of water.

Step 2. SKIN CARE ROUTINE

My spring routine is different from my winter routine. Each winter my skin gets really, really, dry. So I always focus on building my skin barrier and keeping it simple. In winter I also don’t workout a lot so I’m not sweating much. But when spring comes I up my workouts which means my skin has some different needs. The main things I do is switching out heavy moisturizers for lighter ones, adding more brightening ingredients, double cleansing after workouts and always wearing sunscreen! Step 3. MOVE MY BODY DAILY

Now that the sun rises earlier I make sure to go for morning walks daily. They are my secret to a happier mood, more confidence and better mental health. Make sure you are in a safe neighborhood or maybe bring a friend! I often walk with my boyfriend and it’s so much fun talking without any distractions from phones or anything. When I’m alone I listen to podcasts or music.

My walks usually last from 45 minutes up to an hour. I live in a green area so it’s easy for me to enjoy nature and just keep walking. Besides my daily walk I also up my workouts! Spring is the time where I start working out more consistently and also add running to my routine. Don’t forget to have a good stretch routine ;), I promise you it will help with recovery!

Step 4. MORE GREENS AND SUPERFOODS

Spring screams veggies and greens to me! For my spring morning routine I try to add more nourishing breakfast with seasonal veggies and fruits. Also having a superfood smoothie each morning! My smoothies usually consist of avocado, blueberries, banana, greens, spirulina, ginger and almond butter. You can add all kinds of superfoods like hemp seeds, flax seeds, oats, berries, leafy greens.. and much more.

Having a daily smoothie filled with nourishing ingredients will help keep your skin hydrated and glowing from the inside out. Amazing to start now if you want to have that summer glow!

Step 5. GET READY FOR THE DAY

This step isn’t much different in spring than it is in winter. The last part of my morning routine usually consists of getting ready for the day, making myself look pretty so I feel confident and checking my goal list to see if I’m still on track and what I can do today to get closer to my goals. I also make sure that I tidy the house and have a clean and cozy working space. My mind just feels a lot better in a clean, tidy area it improves not only my productivity but also my happiness!

One of my favorite things about my spring glow up routine is that it prepares me for a confident summer. By changing things up and adding healthy habits daily I make sure that when summer comes around I just have to stick to my healthy habits and I will have the best summer so far. Here are a few tips if you want your spring morning routine to get you ready for summer.

Things to consider:

  • Make sure you have a summer visionboard so you can work towards that vision

  • Adjust your skin care and workout routines to get ready for summer

  • Eat healthy, nourishing foods so you have the energy to enjoy summer to the fullest!
